The 11kV switchgear project involves the design, manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning of switchgear facilities for the Honiara power station. This project aims to replace and upgrade the old and unreliable switchgears at the Honiara power station. Switchgears are used to control, protect and isolate electrical equipment and distribution and is linked to the reliability of any electricity supply.The work was completed by a New Zealand company, NorthPower together with Fletcher for NZ$2.5m.
