Power Station Operator
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for Power Station Operator role – Noro Outstation. The Power Station Operators will be responsible for monitoring, controlling of generators and accurate recording of all generator operational parameters.
The role reports to Power Station Operator Team Leader, Solomon Power. It is a full-time role and the incumbent will ensure:
- Efficient monitoring and control of generators and accurate recording of all generator operational parameters
- Technical effectiveness and efficiency of plant operations ensured
- Effective, Quality and timely reports
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant workplace is ensured
- Environmental Management is supported and promoted
- Solomon Power image upheld and values demonstrated at all times
Qualification: Trade Certificate or Diploma Certificate in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- At least One to two years of experience in a similar industry
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Accurate and correct reporting skills both written and verbal
- Good Analytical skill and ability
- High Customer relations service skills

Power Station Operator Team Leader
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for Power Station Operator Team Leader role – Noro/Munda Outstation. The Power Station Operator Team Leader oversee and supervise the work carried out by all Power Station Operators on a daily basis.
The role reports to the Officer in Charge (OIC) – Noro/Munda, Solomon Power. It is a full-time role and the incumbent will ensure:
- Efficient and effective Power station operation is ensured
- Staff managed effectively
- Informed Officer in Charge
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant workplace is ensured
- Environmental Management is supported and promoted
- Solomon Power image upheld and values demonstrated at all times
Qualification: Degree or Diploma Certificate in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- At least 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar industry
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Accurate and correct reporting skills both written and verbal
- Good Analytical skill and ability
- High Customer relations service skills

IT Network & System Administrator
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for IT Network & System Administrator. The IT Network & System Administrator will be responsible for Second level support to the network and systems by providing administration for internal services, firewalls, proxy and PC technical/help desk support and ensure a stable operation of all Sol Power IT system and assets.
The role reports to the Manager Information Communication Technology, Solomon Power. It is a full-time role and the incumbent will ensure:
- Stable operation for all Sol Power IT system and assets ensured
- Organizational efficiencies ensured
- Systems and Network design process specification, time and budget met
- Network operational integrity ensured
- Compliant IT Unit
- Effective communication organization wide
- Required departmental objectives addressed and completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Effective ICT facilitation of security measures
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant workplace is ensured
- Environmental protection is prioritized at all times
Qualification: Degree in Information Technology and/or Information Systems. Cisco CCNA Certificate
Experience:
- Experience in Networking (LAN, WAN) in Cisco environment
- Help desk support experience in Windows and Linux applications
- Experience in Windows Hyper V and VMware ESXi server environment
- Must have working knowledge of certification regimes such as: CISCO, Microsoft, and Linux
- Technical background in internal servers, firewalls and proxy

Engineering Administrator
The Engineering Administrator will provide the administrative support to the Engineering Management Team. The incumbent is responsible for planning and coordinating the administrative activities of the various operational units comprising the Engineering division; Generation Honiara, Outstations, Transmission and Distributions, Regulatory, and Control Centre.
The role will report to the Chief Engineer. It is a full-time role and the incumbent will:
- Ensure Operational Management of the Engineering Office are handled efficiently in a timely manner
- Well informed Management through accurate and timely reporting
- Compliant and upholding standard procedures
- Coordination of budgeting of the Engineering Division and any finance related matters
- Satisfied customers through quality service delivery
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant Solomon Power
- Environmental protection is prioritized at all times

Qualification: Degree in Business and Management, or Diploma with relevant experience
Work Knowledge and experience
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience in similar role.
- Proven experience in producing information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing & retrieving
- Upkeep of filing and retrieval systems; recording meeting discussions
- Event management: drive planning and organizing events
- Travel management: arrange overseas travel and accommodation
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills
