Regulatory Engineer

 

Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Regulatory Engineer. This role ensures that approved electrical industry standards monitored, maintained and compliance adhered to by all stakeholders as per the Electricity Act and associated Regulations. It also facilitates Regulatory Policy Reforms including Electricity Act review, restructure and associated activities and ensures that Independence of Regulatory role is maintained.

Reporting to the Manager Regulatory, the position is also to ensure that the incumbent will be in the position to assume the roles of the Manager Regulatory (MR) whilst on leave or in the event that he leaves the company.

It is a full time role and the incumbent will ensure:

  • Engineering services expertly supported
  • Well informed management through accurate and timely reporting
  • Training and support provided effectively
  • Operationally compliant organization
  • A healthy, safe and OHS compliant Solomon Power
  • Environmental protection is prioritized at all times

Qualification: Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized University.

Experience:

  • At least 3 – 5 years in a similar role
  • Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management & customer services skills necessary
