Before You Apply
⚠️Before You Apply – Important:
Please confirm that your Electrical Contractor has completed all wiring at your property and has signed the required documents at Solomon Power.
Applications submitted without a valid work permit will not be processed.
✓ All contractors listed are verified and authorized for electrical work in Solomon Islands.
Required Documents

For single-family homes, residential properties, and domestic connections.
a. Valid identification of applicant
Passport, Driver’s Licence, NPF Card, Voter ID, or Statutory Declaration
b. Land documentation
Registered title land (FTE or PE)
— If land is under a Business Name but applicant is the owner, a Business Registration document is required. If applicant is not the title holder, written consent from the title holder is required.
Temporary Occupied Land (TOL)
— Letter of approval from Honiara City Council, plus consent from any two of: Village Elder, Community Leader, or Church Pastor.
Customary land
— Consent letter from any two of: Tribal Leader, Community Leader, Church Pastor, or Village Elder.
c. Google Maps location screenshot
A screenshot or link with your property pin marked. No smartphone? A hand-drawn map with nearby landmarks is accepted.
Note on customary land: Written consent from at least 50% of landowners is also accepted per standard guidelines.
For businesses, hotels, shops, offices, restaurants, and commercial buildings.
c. Building Plan Approval
Approved by Honiara City Council or Guadalcanal Province
d. Wiring diagram
Prepared and signed by your licensed Electrical Contractor
e. Land documentation
Registered title (FTE/PE)
— If land is under an individual’s name but application is under a Business name, confirm with Business Registration document. If applicant is not the Business Owner, a Tenancy Agreement or owner consent is required.
Temporary Occupied Land
— Letter of approval from Honiara Town Council, plus consent from any two of: Village Elder, Community Leader, or Church Pastor.
Customary land
— Consent from any two of: Tribal Leader, Community Leader, Church Pastor, or Village Elder.

A clear screenshot or shareable link with your property pin
Commercial requirement: Your company seal / rubber stamp and a valid business licence must be attached to the application.
For factories, heavy workshops, and large-scale industrial facilities.
a-f. All Commercial requirements
Business Certificate, Company House, Building Plan Approval, wiring diagram, land documentation, and Google Maps location — same as commercial above.
g. Supporting letter for dedicated transformer
A letter noting that a dedicated transformer will be required for your facility’s load requirements.
⚠️ Expect a longer lead time for industrial connections. Transformer installation requires additional coordination with Solomon Power. Contact us early.
