VACANCY ANNOUNCMENT – DEPUTY CHIEF ENGINEER
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief Engineer.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer (CE), the Deputy Chief Engineer (DCE) is primarily responsible for supporting the Chief Engineer in the leadership and efficient and effective management as well as delivery of the Generation and Distribution operations, and the Regulatory functions, their annual plans and budgets.
It is a full-time role and the incumbent will ensure:
- Solomon Power’s Strategic Goals support
- Effective Leadership on the Transmission and Distribution Operations and functions
- Effective Leadership on the Management and Planning of the Generations Operations and Functions
- Leadership of the Regulatory Functions
- Teamwork and Cooperation
- Human capital management within the Distribution, Transmission and Regulatory functions ensured
- A Healthy, Safe and OHS Compliant Solomon Power
- Environmental Protection is Prioritized at all times
- Solomon Power’s Organizational Values and Standards upheld at all times
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Engineering and Business Administration, or Preferred Degree in Electrical Engineering/Business Management or Administration
Experience:
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role and 8 years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to provide technical advice and inputs
- Proven experience with managing and partnering with key stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering performance measures
- Demonstrated ability to establish, manage, motivate, train and develop an effective team and team members
