CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power (“Solomon Power”) seeks applications from qualified candidates for its Chief Executive Officer position.

Solomon Power is a vertically integrated state owned enterprise that owns, maintains and operates the national electricity grid in the Solomon Islands. We’re currently experiencing an exciting time of capital infrastructure development, network expansion and transformational change, undertaking a very ambitious capital works program to build a world-class electricity network model that allows us to better service our customers and future proof Solomon Power’s network, despite challenges currently being presented by the worldwide Covid 19 pandemic.

Reporting to the Solomon Power Board of Directors through the Board Chairman, the Chief Executive Officer leads and directs the development, implementation and ongoing review of the strategic direction, operations, people and resources of the organisation; and ensures Solomon Power delivers on its vision, mission and objectives in accordance with laws of the Solomon Islands, Solomon Power’s Strategic Plan and its values, with the support of a highly professional, experienced and motivated team.

This position would suit a candidate with exceptional leadership skills coupled with astute business acumen, self-reliant, motivated, and resilient individual with the capacity to be highly influential with stakeholders.

The candidate must have extensive leadership and strategic management experience with a proven record of achievements at a senior executive level to advance business performance, growth, innovation and partnership with stakeholders.

The candidate will also have to be an astute strategic thinker, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and able to articulate and progress Solomon Power’s strategic agenda and values,
