Two Electrician Opportunities – Generations
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for two Electrician roles. The Electrician supports the team in the safe, effective and efficient delivery of key team outcomes especially in the area of maintenance and repair of electrical plants and auxiliary equipment within the Generations Operations.
The position role reports to the Electrical Engineering Coordinator, Solomon Power. Both are full-time roles and the incumbents will ensure:
- Operations and maintenance of all electrical plants and auxiliary equipment on a daily basis is professional and effective
- Well informed technical management
- Compliance with the prevailing laws and organizational policies and procedures at all times
- Customer Service is efficient and effective
- A safe and healthy work environment
- Environmental management is compliant, efficient and effective at all times
Qualification: Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems
Experience:
- At least a year proven experience in a similar industry
- Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) systems, Transformers, HV switchgear, protection systems and switching operations
- Understanding of DC systems, battery banks, inverters ad charging systems
- Working knowledge of AS/NZS3000 wiring rules and LV wiring
- Demonstrated knowledge of generator controls and ancillary equipment
- Appreciation and knowledge of safety policies, procedures and requirements
- Good teamwork & interpersonal skills

Two Mechanical Fitter Opportunities – Generations
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for two Mechanical Fitter roles. The Mechanical Fitter will undertake the effective operation and maintenance of plant and equipment in the Power Station within the Generations Operations.
The position role reports to the Team Leader Mechanical Services, Solomon Power. Both are full-time roles and the incumbents will ensure:
- Effective operation and maintenance of plant and equipment in the Power Station
- Well informed technical management
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant Solomon Power
- Environmental protection is prioritized at all times
- Sol Power image upheld and values demonstrated at all times
Qualification: Certificate in Mechanical Heavy Plant / Marine Engineering
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years as a senior engineer in a similar industry
- Accurate and correct reporting skills both written and verbal.
- Analytical skill and ability
- High customer relations service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of generator controls and ancillary equipment
- Appreciation and knowledge of safety policies, procedures and requirements
- Good teamwork & interpersonal skills
