Legal Officer – Fixed Term
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for Legal Officer role. The Legal Officer plays a critical role in assisting the Legal Counsel in managing the legal affairs and supporting the strategic objectives of the organization. Reporting directly to the Legal Counsel (and the Legal Counsel’s delegate, the Senior Legal Officer), this position involves providing legal support to the legal team and the broader organization. The Legal Officer assists in ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, fostering a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization.
It is a fixed term role and the incumbent will ensure:
- Legal Advisory – Legal advice and counsel ensured
- Litigation Management
- Compliance Enforcement
- Contract Management
- Corporate Governance
- Risk Assessment
- Stake Holder Relations
- General Administrative Tasks
Qualification: Degree in Law, Unrestricted admission to practice as a legal practitioner
Experience:
- Some experience practicing law, preferably in a corporate or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts and issues clearly and effectively.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision

Legal Support Officer – Short Term
Solomon Power also invites applications from qualified individuals for Legal Support Officer. This is a short-term role intended to provide a law graduate with practical legal work experience. The position involves providing legal support to the legal team.
Key Activities
- Internal Compliance: Assist in implementing internal compliance activities, including documenting practices and processes relating to revenue protection.
- Document Management: Assist in managing the legal documents library, including maintaining an electronic database of contractual documents and updating document registers.
- General Tasks: Assist generally in providing administrative and legal support to the legal department.

Program Manager
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for our Program Manager role. The Program Manager, Capital Works is primarily responsible for the operational management of the Capital Works programs, ensuring efficient and effective management of specific donor funded programs and prepares and maintains the Capital Works Annual Plan (“the Plan”) through the Solomon Power Project Manual. The role reports to the Manager Projects.
It is a two years fixed term role and the incumbent will ensure;
- Operational management of the Capital Works programs are handled in an efficient and timely manner
- Well informed management through accurate and timely reporting
- A skilled, safe and compliant department
- Strategically focused department
- Timely, efficient and effective Human Capital Management
- Performance management activities is transparent, objective and understood by the entire department staff members
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant Solomon Power
- Environmental protection is prioritized at all times
- Sol Power image upheld and values demonstrated at all times
Qualification/Experience: Engineering Degree or higher degree in Project Management
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience in business administration support or relevant experience in Management and Administration support
- Program management skills, Sound financial analysis skills, Sound computer skills & competent in relevant project management applications and finance software
- Good communication skills and the ability to relate to staff at all levels including with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability in report writing in coordination with project team members
- Provide mentoring and coaching to peers and other employees
- Ability to provide administration advice and inputs
