Environmental and Social Safeguards Officer – Special Project (2 years Fixed Term)
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for our Environmental and Social Safeguards Officer – Special Project role. The Environmental and Social Safeguards Officer – Special Project (ESSO) focuses on the Tina River Hydropower Development Project (TRHDP) components and will oversee compliance with environmental and social safeguards for Component 3, rural electrification initiative under Community Benefit Sharing Project – a program under Component 4.
The position role primarily reports to Project Manager – Special Projects and Project Management Unit (PMU) for Component 3 and where necessary to the Manager Planning to ensure that all planning and project activities comply with applicable environmental and social safeguards policies, standards, and legal requirements, minimizing negative impacts on communities and the environment while maximizing project benefits and outputs. It is a two year fixed term role and the incumbent will ensure;
- Environmental Safeguards and Social Safeguards
- Reporting and Documentation
- Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building
- A healthy, safe and OHS compliant Solomon Power
- Environmental protection is prioritized at all times
- Sol Power image upheld and values demonstrated at all times
Qualification/Experience: Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Science, Social Science
- At least At least 5 years of experience in environmental and social safeguards, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge and experience of international environmental and social safeguards standards, such as those of the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB) or other development agencies.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and community consultation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with the local context and language(s) is an advantage.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST
Solomon Islands Electricity Authority trading as Solomon Power invites applications from qualified individuals for Business Development Analyst position. The role will lead, manage and implement the key strategic initiatives in the Solomon Power Business Development Strategy focus mainly in finding other revenue streams for the company.
Reporting directly to the Manager Business Development, the role will drive the growth and expansion into other revenue streams for the company, through analyzing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and providing strategic insights to support business development initiatives. Solomon Power. It is a fixed term role subject to renewal and the incumbent will ensure:
- Solomon Power’s Business Development Strategy implementation

Qualification: Degree in Business, Commerce or Marketing
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis or a related field

- Ability to understand and demonstrate the strategic perspective in analysis and contribute to strategy in the relevant skill area
