Primary Objectives

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead and manage the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Division and ensure to provide efficient and effective operational, implementation and maintenance services for all ICT systems at Solomon Power. The CIO shall make all strategic plans and decisions regarding all ICT requirements of Solomon Power.

Key Result Areas

The following key result areas are expected to be achieved when undertaking the duties of the position:

  • Ensure that Solomon Power’s Strategic goals are supported
  • Ensure that the strategic leadership of the ICT Division function delivered
  • Provide oversight and leadership in the effective delivery of all ICT Projects
  • Ensure effective and efficient human capital management within the ICT Division

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Tertiary qualification from a recognised university in information technology, computer science
  • At least 10 years in work experience in the areas of information technology, computer science
  • Have experiences in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring staff and diverse teams in an emerging market setting/developing country context.

  • Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Deputy Chief Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting the Chief Engineer in the efficient and effective management of the Transmission, Distribution and Regulatory Teams as well as their service deliveries.

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Tertiary qualification from a recognised university in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role and 8 years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering
  • Have experiences in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring staff and diverse teams in an emerging market setting/developing country context.

Primary Objectives

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Special Projects is an Executive management level position that is primarily responsible for the leadership, management and delivery of all major projects that Solomon Power is currently collaborating on with local government and international stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead, manage and deliver the Tina Hydro Power Project through its project lifecycle of 35 years, all its related projects and other projects through the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) such as the grid connect solar farms and hybrid solar systems.

Key Result Areas

The following key result areas are expected to be achieved when undertaking the duties of the position:

  • Ensure Solomon Power’s Strategic goals are supported
  • Strategic leadership of the Tina Hydropower Project team and other projects through IPPs are delivered
  • Effective leadership of Tina Hydropower project execution

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Tertiary qualification from a recognised university in Electrical Engineering specialisation in Power Systems and or Mechanical Engineering
  • Tertiary qualification in project management
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the design and supervision of construction of power systems, particularly networks (distribution and transmission)
  • A project practitioner with broad project lead and management experience with a proven record of managing projects successfully
  • Subject matter expert with superior project management knowledge and experience with ability to provide technical advice and input
  • Sound knowledge and experience in delivering multiple projects within their agreed timeframe and budget
  • Have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring staff and diverse teams in an emerging market setting/developing country context.

Primary Objective:

  • Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, the successful recipient will be expected to provide expert and sound legal advice on commercial matters and regulatory issues which form the basis of Solomon Power’s operations and business performance.
  • The incumbent must also possess the capability and working-knowledge to effectively manage all tendering and contracting processes which are related to the development of infrastructure for Solomon Power. This includes establishing and administering contracts to ensure the efficient execution of Solomon Power’s capital and operating works programs.
  • Collaboratively work with Solomon Power’s Executive and middle-management teams to meet its KRAs while managing risk by providing professional, accurate and timely legal advice to both internal and external stakeholders where Solomon Power’s interests are concerned.

Key Result Areas:

The following key result areas are expected to be achieved when undertaking the duties of the position:

  1. Lead and manage the review of the Solomon Islands Electricity Act and other relevant statutory legislations.
  2. Provide accurate and updated advise to Solomon Power Management to ensure it meets its legal and contractual obligations.
  3. Provide legal support for the overall business in developing, negotiating and executing of contracts for various projects.
  4. Proactively manage the tendering process, ensuring the integrity and transparency of the process is maintained to the very highest ethical standards.
  5. Identify, develop and coach an internal successor for future placement as Manager Legal and Contracts.
  6. At least some skills in legal drafting and statutory interpretation would be an advantage.

Qualification and Experience:

  1. Must have a Bachelor of Laws;
  2. Must be fully admitted to the Bar of the Solomon Islands;
  3. Have at least a minimum 3 years’ experience in court work, especially, civil litigation;
  4. Must be familiar with Solomon Island laws, especially the Electricity Act and regulations and the SOE Act and regulations;
  5. Good commercial and company law background
