We are looking for committed driven and passionate individuals to join our team in the following roles:

PURCHASING OFFICER
This role reports to the Procurement Manager and is primarily responsible for local purchases, ensures and maintains local procurement processes are in accordance with Solomon Power Processes, Policies and Regulations.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Effective and Efficient Order Processing
  • Provide technical expertise on procuring
  • Data Integrity
  • Deliver Accurate and Timely Reports

 

STANDARDS

  • Liaise with Procurement Manager and ensure that the operation of the Local Purchasing are carried out smoothly from time to time
  • Check Supplier capability and delivery of goods and services as per specifications provided and is within the requested timeframe.
  • Receive and process departments and outstations request. Ensure goods procured are checked and confirmed upon delivery.
  • Ensure all data relating to local purchase are maintained
  • Ensure reports assigned to this role is prepared within the required timeframe and checked for accuracy of content and forwarded to the Procurement Manager.

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Certificate in Business or Accounting from a recognized institution.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3-5 years in similar position

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication skills – both written and oral
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have high interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

ASSETS ENGINEER

Reports to Manager Planning and the Asset Engineer is necessary for the key support required in the team for the safe execution of key asset management strategies, planning and engineering tasks required for the delivery of the team’s objectives.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Technical / Engineering effectiveness
  • Providing Technical Expertise
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports
  • Compliance
  • Support of strategic direction

 

STANDARDS

  • Network of Asset Strategies and Asset Management Plans
  • Data Capture and operation of the maintenance management system (Carl)
  • Provide technical input on team assignment and activities
  • Assist in providing electrical engineering technical advise
  • Report on progress of any activities for the improvement of the smooth, effective and efficient operation of the Team

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5-10 years of good solid Electrical Experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Detailed understanding and application of option analysis tools e.g NPV
  • Highly knowledgeable of safety policies, procedures and requirements
  • Must be computer literate
  • Has problem solving capabilities
  • Must have high interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

POWER STATION OPERATOR

The Power Station Operator reports to the Power Station Operator Team Leader

 

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Operational Support
  • Technical Effectiveness
  • Logistic Support

 

STANDARDS

  • Carry out all tasks associated with the monitoring and running of the Generation Plant and auxiliary equipment.
  • Provide monitoring reports to the Power Station Team Leader regarding performance of all generation plant, auxiliaries and all switch equipment
  • Prepare and submit clear and precise faults and abnormal operations of generators, switchboard and auxiliaries.

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Trade Certificate Mechanical or Electrical or preferred equivalent acceptable to Solomon Power

 

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of good solid Electrical Experience.

 

Skills and abilities:

  • Detailed understanding and application of option analysis tools e.g NPV
  • Highly knowledgeable of safety policies, procedures and requirements
  • Must be computer literate
