Primary Objectives

The Chief Financial Officer is primarily responsible for the leadership and effective management of the Finance Division as well as the delivery of its annual works plans in alignment with the Solomon Power Strategic Plan. The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Treasury and asset management optimized.

  • Human capital management for finance and functions.
  • A healthy, safe and OHS compliant Solomon Power.
  • Environmental protection is prioritized at all times.
  • Solomon Power’s organizational values and standards upheld at all times.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business or Commerce
  • Desired: Masters’ Degree MBA in Business or Commerce / CPA from a regionally recognized institution

Work Experiences

  • Member of Professional Association.
  • Must have at least eight years’ experience in a senior financial management position
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of high level, commercially focused, financial advice on key business issues.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and excellent business acumen skills
  • Robust knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and how they relate to Solomon Power and Solomon Islands legislation especially the State
  • Owned Enterprises Act.
  • Significant practical financial management experience in a commercial organization.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs and translate them into documents and action plans.
  • Ability to work both autonomously, and as a member of a variety of teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, stakeholder relationship management skills and approach.
  • Disciplined self-management skills, ability to uphold and role model organizational values.
